Dermal Fillers

dermal fillers knutsford
Dermal fillers can be utilised to improve, restore and rebuild in various areas of the face. The natural process of ageing includes volume tissue loss, skin laxity, reduction of fat cells, loss of moisture and reduced collagen production, all of which can be greatly improved with the use of dermal fillers.

Based in Knutsford MAK Clinic is easily accessible from Manchester and surrounding Cheshire areas including Alderley edge, Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Northwich and Hale.
MAK Clinic only uses the highest quality of regulated products and all procedures are performed by registered healthcare professionals.
Collagen and elastin fibres break down with age, resulting in deep lines and folds, sagging effects, and loss of dynamic contours.

Dermal fillers can replace lost volume and contour shape in the:
  • Mid face cheek and cheekbone area
  • Marionette/jowl area
  • Nose bridge/ shaping/ straightening.
  • Chin/ jawline
  • Temples
  • Tear trough

The average individual will maintain aesthetic results from dermal fillers for an average of 8-18 months.

Lip Augmentation / Enhancement

Research increasingly identifies that there are certain characteristics associated with the lips that we consider beautiful, including natural looking fullness, well defined borders, and a soft smooth appearance.

As we age the lips tend to become thinner, flatter and the loss and lengthening of the philtrum (area between nose and lips) becomes noticeable. These effects can be extremely ageing, especially to the female face, so maintenance of the lips as a feature is greatly recommended.

Enhancing upper and lower lips adds a natural looking fullness and balance to the body of the lips, whilst placing filler in the border of the lips provides a crisp, well defined shape that improves contour and definition.

Dermal filler in the lips will improve texture and surrounding fine lines, resulting in softer, smoother looking lips with collagen stimulation to keep lips looking fuller for longer.

How long will the effects last?

An exact time for the longevity of the effects of filler can depend on many varying factors including age, medical status, product quality, product amount and product placement. As dermal filler stimulates the collagenesis process then results should continue to be seen for a long period of time following treatment.

I have had previous fillter in the same area, is it ok to have more?

Having dermal filler in the same area can be at the discretion of your practitioner. Previous treatment details including product placement, type and amount need to be taken into consideration.

What are the main ingredients?

There are different types of dermal filler, however a hyaluronic acid based product is a common choice of product as it gives a nice smooth versatile effect in the soft tissue and has the safety of being reversible if required.

Can I have a reaction to dermal filler?

It is extremely rare to react to hyaluronic acid based products with very little incidences occurring.

What if I don't like the results?

Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler can be dissolved using a medication called Hyalase. It is very rare that this is used due to a patient not liking their results as, if a thorough consultation has taken place, then expected results should be seen.
