How Skin Tag, Mole & Wart Removal Works at MAK Clinic
Plasma soft surgery: a non-invasive approach to skin lesion removal
At MAK Clinic, we use Plasma Pen technology to treat skin tags and benign moles. The device generates a small electrical arc that vaporises the targeted tissue without cutting into the skin—reducing discomfort, eliminating stitches, and lowering the risk of scarring.
Your treatment journey:
Consultation with clinical assessment to determine suitability
Topical anaesthetic to numb the area for comfort
Plasma removal of the lesion with precision and care
Aftercare guidance to protect the skin and support healing
Why choose plasma-based removal?

A skin tag is a small, soft, benign growth typically found in high-friction areas like the neck, underarms, or groin. They’re harmless but can be removed for comfort or cosmetic reasons.
-
Yes. We only remove benign moles following a visual clinical assessment. Suspicious moles are referred for further medical evaluation.
-
We use Plasma Pen soft surgery, which gently vaporises the lesion without cutting into the skin, resulting in quick healing and minimal scarring.
-
We apply a local anaesthetic cream before treatment. You may feel warmth or a light sting during the procedure, but it’s generally well tolerated.
-
You may experience some redness, a small scab, or dryness at the site. Most people return to normal activities the same day.
-
Once removed, the same lesion won’t return. However, new skin tags may develop in future depending on your skin type and genetics.
-
Most procedures take 15–30 minutes. You’ll receive a full aftercare guide to support healing.
-
Yes, suitable warts may be treated at MAK Clinic following a consultation and skin assessment. Warts are different from skin tags because they are caused by a viral infection in the skin, so they need to be assessed carefully before removal.
During your appointment, we will check the area, confirm whether the lesion appears suitable for treatment, explain your options and advise on aftercare. Some lesions may need GP or dermatology review before treatment, especially if they look unusual, have changed, bleed easily or do not clearly appear to be a simple wart.
-
Skin tags are usually soft, harmless growths of excess skin, often found around the neck, underarms, eyelids or areas of friction. Warts tend to be firmer and rougher, and they are linked to a viral cause, which means they can sometimes spread or return after treatment.
The removal method depends on the type, size, location and appearance of the lesion. At MAK Clinic, we take an assessment-first approach so we can recommend the most appropriate treatment and give clear aftercare advice to support healing and reduce the risk of irritation, infection or recurrence.
